HOW IT ALL BEGAN
The Non Formal Bio:
Once upon a time, some French fries met a German sausage and they thought the meal would be tastier if they could get along!
The recipe: a mix of funk, rock and hip-hop, interpreted by a group of local expats from Luang Prabang – Laos, ready to feed your ears with personal compositions!
The Formal Bio:
At regular gatherings, 5 friends complained about the fact that there was no live music culture in Luang Prabang in northern Laos. One day, with a few more beers than usual, the decision was made to do something about it and the FFGS band was formed. Some of the guys had experience while others were absolute newbies to their instrument.
The Music:
It started as a cover band and first they had to find a common denominator. A mix of funk, rock, hip -hop, soul and reggae songs quickly emerged. In the further course the band noticed that it is much more fun and fulfilling to write own songs and so they began to replace cover songs bit by bit with their own compositions. This also worked live and the own material was very well received by the audience. That motivated the mates to continue on the path they had chosen. In the meantime, at an FFGS concert you can only hear songs written by the band itself !!
